I had chosen a place where Thanksgiving was celebrated with simplicity, where meals were prepared with love and shared without expectation. It was a place where gratitude was the focus, not the grandeur of a menu or the status of a guest list.<\/p>\n

As my flight took off, I felt the physical distance growing between myself and the world I had temporarily left behind. With it, the weight of obligation and expectation slowly lifted.
