She turned and smiled warmly. “Hi, James, right? How’s your day been?”

“It’s been good, thank you,” he replied, surprised by how easily she remembered his name. “I just wanted to say that I’ve noticed how kind you are to everyone here. It’s rare.”

Rose blushed slightly, shrugging off the compliment. “Thank you. I just believe everyone deserves respect, no matter what they do.”
