Her mother walked over to the bed, her expression firm yet gentle. As she approached her daughter, she cast a glance at her son-in-law that could freeze fire. Without a word, she wrapped her arms around her daughter, providing both comfort and silent support. Then, with a calmness that belied the storm brewing beneath her surface, she turned to face the man who had been tormenting her daughter.

“I think it’s time we have a little chat,” she said, her voice steady and unwavering. Her son-in-law attempted to muster up his usual bravado, but her gaze was unrelenting, and he found himself feeling smaller by the second.

“Your wife just underwent surgery, and a concussion is no trivial matter,” she continued, each word deliberate and infused with a quiet power. “You, more than anyone else, should be supporting her right now, not making demands.”
